Multidisciplinary Support Around Feeding
Feeding challenges are influenced by more than oral skills alone. Where appropriate, feeding therapy may be supported by:

Occupational Therapy
OTs contribute to feeding care by addressing:
- sensory processing differences
- posture and positioning for safe feeding
- fine motor skills related to self‑feeding
- environmental and routine‑based mealtime supports
OTs do not provide feeding therapy independently, but play a vital role in supporting the sensory‑motor foundations for successful feeding.

Psychology
Psychologists may support feeding therapy by addressing:
- anxiety related to eating or swallowing
- emotional regulation during mealtimes
- trauma‑informed support around food experiences
- parent and caregiver coaching

Medical Support
(Collaborative Care)
Our medical team may contribute by supporting:
- medical assessment and management of underlying or co‑occurring conditions
- review of neurological, developmental or psychiatric factors
- medication review where appetite, arousal or swallowing safety may be impacted
Medical clinicians do not provide feeding therapy, but support safe, coordinated care.
Reports & Outcomes
Following assessment or therapy, we may provide:
- feeding or swallowing assessment reports
- Mealtime Management Plans
- clear therapy recommendations
- liaison with relevant health professionals (with consent)
